Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F (2024)

 

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F is a continuation of the 80s hit police comedy.

Unknown director Mark Molloy came out of nowhere to direct the film. He is blessed to use a stellar cast for his first film. He must be a part of some Illuminati or know someone important because who gets this picture to be their first film? Will Beall has updated the film for modern audiences but not in an overt way. He's the writer for Justice League and Bad Boys: Ride or Die, so this is his better film.

Eddie Murphy is back and with old jokes and callbacks. He's funny sure but it's mostly nostalgia. His daughter is played by Taylour Paige is probably the worst actor in the film even including Judge Reinhold. She's best known for her inability to smile and Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

The Robin to Axel is Joseph Gordon-Levitt who plays a sidekick really well, but his character is unlikeable, much like Kevin Bacon's villain, they're both not meant to be liked and both did a good job either way.

The film was an above average continuation of nostalgia bait. Result: B-

  Cinderella is a modern take on the classic tale. This time everything is politically upside down. Written and Directed by Kay Cannon,   Cinderella takes any chance it can to push an agenda. It's nauseating in the forcefulness of the propaganda. It's hard to take any scene that isn't singing seriously. It lives in a dystopian world where anyone who doesn't think progressively like-minded is a fool and shouldn't have joy. Inside (2023)

  Inside  is an artsy film about a person trapped inside a home he was burgling for art that he could sell. Written and directed by Vasilis Katsoupis, who isn't really known for much. There are shots and sequences that felt over-drawn out. There are some convenient plot devices in the film that break the reality of what is happening. Some things are breakable with enough time and effort but other times they are superhuman in durability. In the end, it's an artsy film about art.  Willem Dafoe  plays the main character Nemo. He's on display for any flaws he has in his acting and of course, he delivers what you'd expect from a single-character movie. He plays a failed artist and now steals art from those who were successful. You might remember Dafoe as Green Goblin  from Sam Rami's Spider-man.  I never want to watch this film again and most you'd expect to happen about a person trapped in a home for days on end you'll find. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 (2023)

  My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3  is the third installment in the Big Fat Greek franchise, this time they're in Greece.  Written, directed, and starring Nia Vardalos, just like the previous films. Now she is being asked to become the head of the family. I imagine if they do a fourth installment that like the other sequels they will never live up to the first one and will have throwbacks you've come to expect now with any sequel. Paris is back, played by Elena Kampouris , she's pretty but her beauty isn't going to draw a crowd, and her counterpart, Elias Kacavas, isn't going to bring in the crowd looking for young eye candy. Both of them haven't been in much and their future doesn't look great either. Stephanie Nur  is a newcomer to this franchise and you might recognize her from 1883  as Melodi.
